I know I've blathered before about how cool the Chuck Jones animated short of Rikki Tikki Tavi is, but it and the animated version of Animal Farm are probably the two cartoons that had the most long term effect on me. If you haven't seen this and you have kids, rent it. It's great, although a little scary at times. Wikipedia has an excellent plot summary of the story.
